ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION COMPETITION AT JÁSZBERÉNY CAMPUS
A pronunciation competition was organized by Jászberény Campus for secondary school learners of English as a Foreign Language. The 24 participants had to read out a one-page text from a novel. The jury consisted of Diane Kratt Ed.D and Lauren Willison form Florida Gulf Coast University and Annamária Sinka PhD and Rita Szaszkó PhD of Jászberény Campus.

26 September 2018: European Day of Languages at Jászberény Campus The European Day of Languages 26 September has been celebrated with various programmes in 47 member states of the Council of Europe since 2001 in order to draw attention to the importance of learning languages inside and outside school as well as to cultural diversity.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is an international organization that aims to reduce barriers to the openness of research data. On its meeting, called RDA meets Hungarian researchers, took place on 7 February in Budapest, Tibor Koltay presented a short paper, titled Data literacy, metadata, data citation: Together with the libraries?

An international conference, titled 21st Century European Educational Venues and Avenues, organised by the Jászberény Campus took place on the 9 November 2017 in Jászberény.

IATEFL-H International Conference
IATEFL-Hungary – the International Association of English Teachers of English as a Foreign Language organised its international conference titled The Power of Now – Teaching and Learning in the Present on 6-8 October, 2017. Among the speakers were dr. Renáta Bernhardt Kisné and dr. Laura Furcsa, who presented the results of their new research.

PRIMARY SCHOOL EFL TEACHERS’ ROUNDTABLE
An English language roundtable was held at Jászberény Campus on 5 October, 2017. Our alumni students working as EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers were invited for this roundtable discussion organised by the Department of Information and Communication as a part of the progamme series to celebrate the 100th anniversary of teacher training in Jászberény.

Intercultural workshop and mock oral language exam
The Researchers’ Night 2017 programme series at Eszterházy Károly University Jászberény Campus was organised by dr. Annamária Sinka senior lecturer. Within this programme the Department of Information and Communication offered an intercultural workshop and mock oral exams (in English and German).

Focus on Inquiry-based learning
Five members of the academic staff of Eszterházy Károly University Jászberény Campus have contributed as authors to an international publication focusing on student teachers learning through inquiry from international perspectives.

A delegation has arrived from Yazd
A delegation has arrived from Yazd, the Iranian sister ciy of Jaszberény at the Jászberény Campus on 8th June. Members of the delegations were Dr Mohammad Saleh Owlia, President of Yazd University and other representatives of the management of both Yazd University and the Medical University of Yazd, among them heads of International Relations of the institutes.

Current questions of kindergarten pedagogy
In November 2016 Eszterházy Károly University organized a pre-school pedagogical conference for the development of the most up-to-date kindergarten pedagogical knowledge in order to discuss current challenges. This year Jászberényi Campus took over to continue this series. The lecturers are concerned with the current issues of kindergarten teacher training and work carried out in kindergartens as well as presenting research results.

Keynote speech by Tibor Koltay
Supported by the EFOP-3.6.1-16-2016-00001 project ‘Complex Development of Research Capacities and Services at Eszterházy Károly University’, the keynote speech, titled ‘Beyond literacies: The evolving landscape of library support to Research 2.0’ was delivered at the 4th International Scientific Conference Information Science in the Age of Change: Innovative Information Services, on the 15th May in Warsaw, Poland.

On 21st April, the 1st Jászság Economic and Development Conference was organized by Eszterházy Károly University Jászberényi Campus. Dr. István Rédei, President of the Jászság Manager Club Association, the organizer of the conference and dr. Bernadett Varró, Dean of the Campus, welcomed the guests.
