INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE BY THE INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE (IATEFL-H)

IATEFL-H'S ENGAGED POTLIGHT ON LEARNING international conference was held on 4-5the October, 2019 in Budapest. Jászberény Campus was represented by three teachers and their workshops titled: 1) Can you tell me a good story? Modern and old-fashioned ways of storytelling in the integrated EFL classroom and 2) Developing English competences through intercultural games.

Annamária Sinka PhD senior lecturer (EKU-JC Department of Native and Art Education) and Beáta Madarász (Hajós Alfréd Elementary School, Gödöllő) gave a workshop on how innovative technology based methods can make the traditional storytelling a remarkable audio-visual experience in the integrated ESL classroom. The participants were invited to create their own stories by using painted pebbles to share the joy of creation.

Laura Furcsa PhD (EKU-JC Department of Socialtheory and Rita Szaszkó PhD (Department of Information and Communication) presented how using intercultural games in language classes helps to increase learners' intercultural sensitivity as well as their communicational and interpersonal skills.
